Dancers previously in level 3 and up
Technique Tuesday is the perfect way to continue your dance training over the summer. Spend one day a week focusing on ballet and technique. Build your strength and flexibility throughout the summer.

Juniors (previously in Ballet 3 or Ballet 3/4) - $185 per session or $50 per week

Welcome back Mr. Tommy to Barefoot! We are so excited for another workshop. Spend three days learning a mixture of Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Jazz and Technique.

Born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Thomas Tu Nguyen embarked on his dance journey at the age of 17 in 2009. He auditioned for the Washington High School dance team and in 2010, he participated in his first Dance Worlds competition at Disney World in Florida. Having achieved remarkable success, he currently holds three World Champion titles, including one in All Male Hip Hop (2014) and two in Open Coed Jazz (2020 COVID affected year and 2021). As a USASF certified coach, Thomas consistently seeks opportunities to learn and improve his skills to better assist others.
Between 2016 and 2018, Thomas selflessly dedicated numerous hours to Dancing with the Sioux Falls Stars (DWTSFS), a fundraiser for NAMI Sioux Falls that supports families in the local community affected by mental illness. In his second year of participation in DWTSFS, he teamed up with his partner Jessica Speckmeier and their self-choreographed lyrical performance to the song "Gravity" earned them the coveted spinning disco ball trophy! Thomas graduated from South Dakota State University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in French Studies with a minor in Dance. During the 2020 and 2021 seasons, he was the Assistant Coach for the O’Gorman High School Dance Team. He currently holds the position of Head Competitive Dance Coach at Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, SD. In addition, he coaches several all-star dance teams at Dynamic Cheer & Dance located in Brandon, SD, and is also a competing member of their newly formed open all-star world’s team. Since 2016, Thomas has been apart of the Sioux Falls dance community performing with LiRa Dance Company and instructing at Balleraena Dance Studio located in Sioux Falls, SD, where he teaches a range of classes including technique, hip hop, lyrical, and contemporary. When he is not teaching a room full of students, he also offers private dance instruction, choreography, and videography services. Thomas is a returning cast member and choreographer for the 8th season of the LiRa Dance Theatre Company.

Saturdays with Miss Sarah

Spend your Saturday with Miss Sarah. This workshop style dance day will be filled with ballet, strength/conditioning, technique, and of course FUN! Saturday workshops are for dancers level 3 and up and will also focus on audition preparations for the upcoming Nutcracker.

Our summer acro clinics are designed to focus on specific skills and strength. Spend two days working towards your cartwheels, walkovers and more! Acrobatics is a great skill to not only learn exciting tricks, but to build strength and stamina. Pair this with our guest artist workshops!

Musical Theatre

This year we have decided to wait and surprise you with a special musical theme. What do you think it will be? Become a "triple threat" while preparing for the stage. Sing, dance and act all at the same time. Learn level appropriate dance routines from popular Broadway shows. Learn or heighten your vocal performance and acting skills while performing scenes from hit musicals.

Teacher Assistant Training

Are you looking to be a helper or teacher assistant in our primary dance program? Being a leader and mentor to a younger dancer is one of the most full-filling things in the world! To assist in a class for our Fall 2023 season we will be requiring our students to attend at least one day of training. In this training you will learn basic classroom management, child development and primary dance teaching skills. Teacher assistants receive volunteer hour discounts throughout the school year and potential career experience. Dancers will receive a certificate of completion, and a free Barefoot t-shirt.
July 20th or August 10th (must attend one or both sessions)
9:00am-3:30pm (lunch break 12:00-12:30)

Returning Barefoot families, please register your dancer in the level or age group they were previously enrolled in. If you are looking to start or need any assistance please email us at frontdesk@barefootdancestudio.com. We will work with you and your student to pick the best suited classes for their goals and needs

How do I pay for summer dance?
At the time of registration, Barefoot Dance Studios requires a $10 registration fee to hold your spot! These classes fill up quickly! Your preferred payment method on file will be charged the Friday before the first day of class. If you are registered for summer dance and do not attend, you will only be responsible for 30% of tuition paid.
